Beaufort County, NC - Sally & Emeline Woolard - Act to Legitimate

An Act to alter the name, and legitimate Sally Ann Woolard and 
Emaline Woolard

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, 
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Sally Ann
Woolard and Emeline Woolard, children of Simon Cruthers and Nancy
Cruthers, of Beaufort county, born out of wedlock, be, and they are
hereby legitimated in as ample manner as if born in wedlock; and that
they shall hereafter be known and called by the names respectively of
Sally Ann Cruthers, and Emeline Cruthers, and that they shall be heirs
at law, and next of kin, in the same manner, and to all intents and
purposes, as if born in lawful wedlock; any law to the contrary
notwithstanding.
