All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Kathy Wilde wildekat@hotmail.com November 6, 2005, 1:11 am Written: January 13, 1821 Recorded: March 1821 This Indenture made this 13th day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and Twenty one between Thomas Allen of the county of Beaufort of the one part and John Gray Blount of the county aforesaid of the other part — Witnesseth that the said Thomas Allen for and in consideration of the Sum of Eighty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Gray Blount, before the signing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said Thomas Allen fully satisfyed contented and paid hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain & Sell convey and confirm unto the said John Gray Blount his heirs and assigns forever the following described Land Situate lying and being in the county of Beaufort on the Beaverdam Swamp Beginning at a pine standing on the East side said Swamp near the Houses built by Blount & Allen corner to two Grants to Walker Edwards Junr and runs South 30 West 80 poles to the Corner then with the next line of the grant North 30 West so far that an East cource will strike the mouth of William A Blounts northermost ditch where it runs into the main ditch that divides Blounts and Allens fields then east to the middle of that ditch then north untill an East cource will Strike a pine near Georges Swamp the second corner of the Howell Downs Land & the first corner of Walker Edwards Junr. Grant then East 13 pole to the same then So 80 Et 15 pole to the line of Hills, Georges Swamp Land then with the same South to the corner, then with his other line East 30 poles to Coffy’s line then with that South 157 pole to his corner then to the begining containing by Estimation Eighty acres be the same more or less and is part of Two Grants to Walker Edwards Junr & one to Walker Edwards Senr— To have and to hold the above described piece or parcel of Land with all the priviledges & appurtenances to the Same in any manner belonging or appurtaining unto him the said John Gray Blount his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Allen for himself & his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree with the said John Gray Blount for himself & his heirs Executors & Administrators that he and they will warrant and forever defend the aforesaid Land & premises to him the said John Gray Blount his heirs and assigns forever against the claim of all persons whatsoever — In Witness whereof the said Thomas Allen hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his Seal the date first above written Thomas Allen Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of Will A. Blount Wm W Rodman March Term 1821 Then was the Execution of the within Deed from Thomas Allen to John Gray Blount acknowledged by the said Allen in open Court let it be Registered.
