Beaufort County, NC - Deeds File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Carl Langford Book 34, page 261 7 Sep 1869 State of North Carolina Beaufort, County This Indenture made in the year of our Lord, September the Seventh, one thousand eight- hundred and Sixty-nine, by and between ISAAC WALLIS, of the first part, and LEVIN WALLIS, of the second part, both of the County of Beaufort and State of North Carolina, I the Said ISAAC WALLIS and wife ADLINE WALLIS do bargain, Sell and set over , our right and title and interest unto the Said LEVIN WALLIS to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Witnesseth, that for the sum of Six hundred dollars, to us in hand paid by LEVIN WALLIS for our right and interest, I the Said ISAAC WALLIS and wife ADLINE WALLIS, do warrant and defend Said land and all appurtenances there so of unto the Said LEVIN WALLIS forever, the land beginning and ending as follows: Beginning at a gum at the Box Ridge Branch - thence running with Said Branch across the Swamp to a gum - thence with the Swamp to a gum - thence East to a Poplar stump - thence near Eastwardly to the Main Run of Pumgo swamp below the Bridge - thence with the main Run of Said Swamp down the run to the mouth of STARKEY WALLIS' ditch - thence with Said ditch to WILLIAM WALLIS' line - thence with Said Wallis' line to a pine on the West side of Flat Branch in the Neck - thence a straight line to the beginning, concluding three hundred acres. (300). I except one acre, including the Grave Yard in Said land. I the Said ISAAC WALLIS and wife ADLINE WALLIS, we do warrant and defend from us, ourselfs, our heirs and executors and assigns, and against any or all person or persons whatsoever may come forever, unto the Said LEVIN WALLIS, to him, his heirs and Administrators, and assigns executors for ever the day and date as above written, Signed, sealed and delivered Isaac Wallis {Seal} in presence of us Adaline Wallis {Seal} Witness: T. Waters Beaufort County - In the Probate Court: Be it remembered, that on this 8th day of September, 1869, before the undersigned, Judge of Probate for Said county, personally came ISAAC WALLIS and ADALINE WALLIS his wife, the persons described in, and who signed the foregoing Deed, and acknowledged the due executions thereof by these as their act and deed: And therefore, the Said ADALINE WALLIS., being by the undersigned personally examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her from consent in the execution thereof, doth declare, on such his examination , that she had executed the same freely of her own will and accord and without any force, fear or under influence of her Said husband, or of any other person, And did still voluntarily assert thereto.
