Warren, Jamsey Lewis, William Lewis, Susan Williams, Caleb Williams, Eliza Taylor Fredrick Taylor all of the State of North Carolina and County of Beaufort of the one part and Lucy A. Downs of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henrietta Warren, ThomasWarren, Jeamsey Lewis William Lewis Susan Williams Caleb Williams Eliza Tayler and Fredrick Taylor, do for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars have given granted bargained and sold unto the said Lucy A. Downs all our right title and interest in the lands belonging to the Estate of Shadrick Downs deceased, said lands lying on the South side of Pamlico River and West Side of Chockowinity Swamp and we the said Henrietta Warren, Thomas J. Warren, Jeamsy Lewis William Lewis, Susan Williams, Caleb Williams Eliza Tayler & Fredrick Taylor, do bind ourselves our heirs executors Administrators, and assigns to warrant and forever defend to him to her the Said Lucy N. Downs her heirs executors Administrators and assigns free and clear from th lawful claims of any person or persons whatsoever in witness whereof we the said Henrietta Warren Thomas Warren Jeamsy Lewis, William Lewis, Susan Williams, Caleb Williams, Eliza Taylor, Fredrick Taylor hath hereunto set our hands and Seal the day and year above written. Warren & Henrietta Warren his wife, Caleb Williams & Susan Williams his wife, Fred F. Taylor and Eliza Taylor his wife & William M. Lewis and Jemmsey Lewis his wife, and acknowledged the due execution by them of the foregoing deed. And therefore the said T. J. Warren & wife and others above named being by me privately exeamined, separate and apart from their respective husbands touching their free consent to the execution of the said Deed. And they doth on Such examination declare that they executed the same freely of their own will and accord and without any force, fear or undue influces by their said husbands or any other persons and do still voluntarily give their assent thereto.
