[Notes: Glidwell Orrell Gallaway, son of James Gallaway and Prussia Orrell (originally of Beaufort Co., NC) grew up in Greene Co., NC, and moved with his family about 1825 to Weakley Co., TN. He married Eliza Parish who remarried after his death to Young Gray and moved, eventually, to Robertson Co., Texas. "Dupree" was written "Duplee" throughout this document. Also, Glidwell's middle initial in his signature was misread by the recording clerk, and should have been an "O" rather than a "C." His middle name was Orrell.--ER] Glidwell Gallaway to Gustavus Dupree, Beau. Co., NC. 1832 Beaufort Co., NC, Deed Book 17, page 367. This Indenture made this the 6th of November 1832 between Glidwell Gallaway of the County Weekly and State of Tennessee of the one part and Gustavus Duplee of the County of Beaufort & State of North Carolina of the other part Witness that he the said Glidwell for and in consideration of the sum of twenty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Gustavus Duplee before the sealing and Delivering hereof hath given granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell & deliver unto him the said Gustavus a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying & being in the County of Beaufort at the head of the Great Bay on the West side of Blounts Creek being 46 acres fell to me by the death of my Father James Gallaway beginning at a pine standing on Hilliard Fatheree's line, running his line north Sixty three East fifty poles to a pine Cox's Corner and with the said Cox's ine North one hundred & fifty poles to a pine, then South seventy one West twenty poles to the pocosin and with the windings of the Pocosin to the beginning for forty six Acres be the same more or less and he the said Glidwell hereby conveys to him the said Gustavus his heirs & assigns forever. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land as above mentioned with all its improvements, rights privileges & appurtenances to Gustavus his heirs & assigns forever and he the said Glidwell for himself his heirs executors administrators doth well and hereby warrant & defend and forever defend against the claim or claims of all or any person or persons having to the above mentioned tract of land.
