Between Edward Howcott of Bath Town in the province of North Carolina, . . . . . . . . and Martha his wife of the one part and James Calf of Bath Town aforesaid in the province aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Edward Howcott and Martha his wife in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds lawfull money of Great Brittain to the said Edward Howcott in hand paid by the said James Calf have granted bargained and sold aliened and confirmed unto the said James Calf and his heirs, all the Messuages Situate lying and being in the lots Numbered 5 & 6 in Bath Town aforesaid to wit one dwelling house, one Kitchen stone storehouse together with the aforessaid lots and the fronts thereunto belonging all other buildings Gardens easements and advantage belonging and appertaining to the Same, and also, all the right, title, right of dower, claim interest and demand whatsoever of the said Edward Howcott and Martha his wife of in and to the said aforesaid lotts and premises. To Have and to hold the said Messuages, lotts and premises with the appurtenances unto the said James Calf his heirs and assigns forever. and the said Edward Howcott and Martha his wife, and their heirs, the aforesaid Messuages, lots and premises above mentioned with the appurtenances to the said James Calf, his heirs and assigns, against them the said Edward Howcott and Martha his wife and their heirs and against all other persons and warrant, and forever defend by these presents.
