Beaufort County, NC - Indenture File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Carl Langford Book 28 Page 110 12 Jan 1850 State of North Carolina, Beaufort County, Now all men by these present that I, JONATHAN WALLACE of the afore Said State and County for and in consideration of the love and affection I, JONATHAN WALLACE do have for my daughter NANCY WALLACE do give unto her Accept whereof I do acknowledge for the love and affection I the aforeSaid do give unto her two Negroes, Pemalia Jackilim & Charles Rush one about seven, the other five years of age. To have and to hold the Said gift promised unto my daughter NANCY WALLACE her heirs executors, administrators and afore signs forever. And I the Said JONATHAN WALLACE do for myself except my life estate in this boy Charles. And by these present shall and will warrant and forever defend against all persons by these present, the Said gift promises unto the Said NANCY WALLACE my daughter her heirs executors administrators and aforesigns forever excepting I, JONATHAN WALLACE my life estate in the Boy Charles and her.
