This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Gerry Seymour Apr. 1999 ======================================================================== Deed: JOHN NEWMAN TO JAMES AND PENELOPE BUCK THIS INDENTURE made this 17th day of February in the year of our Lord 1781 between John Newman of the County of Beaufort & State of North Carolina of the one part & James Buck of the County of Pitt & State of said of the other part Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the Natural Love & affection which I have & bear unto the said James Buck and his wife Penelope Buck & for the better maintenance of the said James and Penelope Buck them their heirs & assigns A certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying & being in the County of Beaufort & State of said on the North side of Pamptico River beginning at a White Oak one of the said James Buck's corner trees running South 76 Poles then East 92 poles to a white oak on Richard Oden's line then North160 poles to a pine then North 70 West 186 poles to a pine then North 70 West 186 poles to William Boyd's line then with said line South 40 West 96 Poles to Roundtree's line East 37 Poles to a pine then with Roundtree's & Buck's line to the first station containing as by the Grant 200 acres together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments & appurtenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining. To have and to hold the above said Land from me my heirs & assigns hereafter to the said James Buck and his wife Penelope Buck them their heirs & assigns.
