Be it Known that I John Selby Jnr for the in consideration of Five hundred 
Seventy five dollars to me in hand paid by Hans Hardison have bargained and 
sold and by these presents do bargain and Sell unto Said Hans Hardison him & 
his heirs forever a certain Negro Woman by the name of Cate and her two 
children one by the Name of Marvel and one by the name of Ann Mariah which 
said Negroes I the aforesaid John Selby Jnr do bind myself my heirs and 
assigns to warrant and for ever defend unto the said Hans Hardison him and his 
Heirs forever free from the claims of all and every person or persons In 
Witness my hand and Seal the 17 July 1821.

Beaufort County August Term 1821 Then and there was this Bill Sale from John 
Selby Jnr to Hans Hardison proved in Court by the oath of Saml W Lucas a 
subscribing witness thereto Let it be Registered.
