This Indenture made this 21st day of March in the year of our Lord 1811 
between Ruben Slade of the County of Beaufort and State of North Carolina of 
the One part, and Lemuel Linton & Jonathan Pearce of the afsd County & State 
of the Other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of ten 
pound to him in hand paid by the afsd Lemuel Linton and Jonathan Pearce the 
rect whereof the said Ruben Slade doth hereby acknowledge that the said Rubin 
Slade, hath Granted, bargained sold Aliened and Confirmed and by these 
presents doth grant bargain sell Alien and confirm unto the said Lemuel Linton 
and Jonathan Pearce, their Heirs and and assigns forever a certain piece of 
Land Situate on the North side of Jones Bay, begining near the fork of the 
Road in the bay Savana runing the Bucks line, Containing 17 acres and ¨÷ of an 
acre together With all and singular the benefits and privaledges to the 
belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the afsd 17 ¨÷ acres 
land by Virtue of these presents and the said Ruben Slade for himself his 
Heirs, Executors, admrs and all other persons Whatsoever will warrand and 
defend the afds 17 ¨÷ acres of Land to the Only Use of them Lamuel Linton  & 
Jonathan their heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof the said Rubin 
Slade, hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year above Written.

September Term 1811 Certified that this deed from Ruben Slade to Lemuel Linton 
& Jonathan Pearce, was proven in Court by the Oath of David Watson an Evidence 
thereto and Ordered to be Registered.
