Written: October 27, 1810

This Indenture made this 27th day of October 1810 between Henry Smaw of the 
County of Beaufort & state of North Carolina, and Henry Blount of the County 
and State afsd. of the other part.  Witnesseth that for and in Consideration 
of the sum of twenty pounds to me the said Henry Smaw in hand paid by the said 
Henry Blount on or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the rec’t 
where of I do hereby acknowledge myself there with fully satisfied contented 
and paid, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell 
Enfeoff convey confirm assign and set over, unto the said Henry Blount, his 
heirs and assigns one half of a certain piece of land, laying on the North 
side of Pamptico River adjoining the lands of Wm Perkins & Tho Floyd, which 
said land was patented by my father Wm Smaw & by his death one half of sd land 
fell to me, and I the sd. Henry Smaw do promise for myself my heirs executors 
administrators and assigns, to warrant and forever defend unto him the said 
Henry Blount his Heirs and assigns, the aforesaid Bargained premises with any 
priviledges or advantages belonging to to the same from myself my heirs 
executors, administrators and assigns & from the claim or claims of all and 
every person or persons whatsoever, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and seal this day and year above written.
