Written: March 14, 1825
Recorded: February 1826

For and in consideration of the sum of three hundred & twenty five dollars to 
me in hand paid by Thomas C Puckett I do hereby bargain sell transfer and 
deliver to the said Thomas C Puckett two negro Slaves viz a negro woman named 
Dinah and her child named Henry — the said Negroes being the same that John 
McWilliams lately conveyed to Hinton & A Grist and that they conveyed to 
William E Smaw — and I do hereby warrant and bind myself to defend to the said 
Thomas C Puckett and his heirs forever the said negros and from every claim to 
the sole use & behoof of himself the said Thomas C Puckett and his heirs and 
assigns forever.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 
14th day of March 1825.

Acknowledge in presence of L Hawkins

February Term 1826 Court of Pleas & Qr Sessions – Then the execution of the 
within bill of slae from W E Smaw to T C Puckett was acknowledged in Court by 
the said W E Smaw let it be registered.
