This Indenture made this __ day of Jnuary in the year of our Lord on thousand 
and Eight hundred and fifteen betwen William Smaw of the County of Beaufort 
and State of North Carolina of the one part and John Smaw of the Same County 
and State aforesaid of the other part 

Witnesseth I the said William Smaw for and the Consideration of the Sum of 
Eight hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said John Smaw before the 
insealing and delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof I do hereby 
acknowledge my self therewith fully satisfied and paid I have given granted 
bargain and sold Several  pieces or parcels of land lying and being in the 
County and State aforesaid Situated lying and being on the South Side of 
Pamtico river and West side of Durhums Creek and South Side of Tants Swamp the 
upper Corner of Paytons line runing with said line North 60 West 320 pols 
thence So 15 Ws 190 Pols thence So 60 Est to the Creek thence with the Creek 
to the beginning Also a track or parcel of land Containing forty Acres that 
Joshaway Reel Bought of arter Bruffit ajoyning the four mentioned land to be 
the same more or less and I the said William Smaw my heirs Exrs Adms and 
Assigns doth warrant and forever defend the said lands to him the Said John 
Smaw his heirs Exrs Adms and Assigns forever in testamony hereof I Set my hand 
and affix my Seale.

Feby Term 1824 Beaufort Co Pleas & Qr Sessions Then the execution of the 
Within Deed from Wm Smaw to John Smaw was proved in Cort by the oath of Thomas 
Ellison a Subscribing Witness thereto let it be Registered.
