Robert Tripp purchased 300 acres on Core Creek from Sarah Roe. Beaufort County Deed Book 3 p 562 Recorded March 1763 This Indenture made the 2nd day of July 1762 Between Robert Tripp of Beaufort County in the province of North Carolina of the one part & Sarah Roe of the same county & province Witnesseth, that the said Sarah Roe for & in consideration of the Sum of Forty pounds to her is paid by said Robert Tripp the rec p whereof I do hereby acknowledge, & do agree & discharge the said Robert Tripp hath Granted bargained & by these presents Grant bargain & Sell to the Said Robert Tripp a certain tract of land containing 300 acres being part of a Patent Granted Moses Barras 390 acres bearing date June 3, 1706 & transfer'd to Wiber & from him to Colman Roe, beginning at Barras' Creek, running up the river 264 pole to the side of a branch, then S 46 W 320 pole to a pine, then N35 E 160 pole to the head of one of the branches of Core Creek, the various courses of the branch & Creek to the first Station. To have and to hold the Said plantation tract of land, with all the appurtenances thereto belonging to him the Said Robert Tripp his heirs & assigns forever, & every of them Shall at all times hereafter have hold possess & enjoy the Said premises & appertenances free & clear of all other former Grants, ___?____ and all incumbrances whatsoever Shall & will Warrant & defend.
