She died at the home of her daughter in Portsmouth October 29. In September, 1893, she was married to William Osborne Dunbar and they made their home in North Carolina until 1914, when they moved to Sedley, residing there since that time except for a few years in Goldsboro, N.C., more recently residing with their daughter, Mrs. J. Maywood Johnson, and Mr. Johnson. Mrs. Dunbar is survived by her husband and by four sons, Clyde M. Dunbar of Washington, Charlie E. Dunbar of Norfolk, Bruce Dunbar of Newark, N.J., and Robert Dunbar of New Bern, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. J. Maywood Johnson of Sedley and Mrs. Hurley Lamb of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; two brothers, Cleveland Smith of Plymouth, N.C., and W.T. Smith of New Bern and by a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dunbar was a faithful and loyal member of Grace Memorial Methodist Church, supporting all of its organizations and being a teacher in the Sunday school for many years. Funeral services were conducted at her church Sunday afternoon at three o’clock conducted by the Rev. R.I. Williams of Richmond, assisted by her pastor, the Rev. P.D. White. Mrs. R.C. Williams and Mrs. J.D. Saunders, Jr. sang “Abide With Me” and “Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior” was sung by a choir composed of the three village church choirs. The funeral was largely attended and there was a profusion of lovely flowers, the casket being covered with a pall of white chrysanthemums. Pallbearers were W.F. Lewis, S.C. Turner, T.F. Hundley, C.B. Owen, R.L. Wellons and N. Stephenson. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Interment was made in the family lot in Rosemont Cemetery.
