BOYD, the mother of JOSEPH and JOHN. When the dispute became warm, BOYD left the company and went home. GIBBS swore he would follow him to his house and give him a flogging - those present declared he should not; he then appeared more quiet and stayed until the company were about to disperse, when he also started taking the direct road to MRS. BOYD'S and continued in it until out of sight of the house, when he cut a large club and proceeded to the house of JOSEPH BOYD with the intention of executing his threat; but when within a few paces of the door, BOYD raised his gun and fired, and GIBBS fell, a lifeless corpse. Farther we have not understood. Washington Recorder, 3rd inst.
