Communication

Died in Washington, N.C. on Wednesday the 21st ultimo in the 26th year of his 
age, Mr. McGillivray B. Hunter, Deputy Collector of that Port. In the 
character of this truly amiable young man was found that bright assemblage of 
virtues which seldom adorn so early a period of life. Although his earthly 
career, like the progress of that fatal malady which terminated it, was short 
and evanescent, yet it afforded a luminous example of morality and temperance, 
of probity and discretion, which those who knew him will delight to remember. 
To an honest intregrity of heart, a genuine nobleness of soul and unaffected 
dignity of deportment were united those social and kindred feelings of 
benevolence, which were calculated to conciliate esteem, and command respect.
