The Raleigh Standard, 6 July 1859
    DIED, at his residence, near the town of Washington, on the 14th ult., 
BENJAMIN RUNYON, ESQ., in the seventieth year of his age. For many years he 
filled the office of Cashier in the Bank of Cape Fear, and also that of Clerk 
and Master in Equity, with ability and promptness. He was a good and useful 
citizen and died deeply lamented. -- "Dispatch"
