Wm. BARROW, Jr. to Christopher MALLISON, Sr. both of Beaufort Co., NC-450 acres 
where Wm. HOOTEN now lives, sold at the courthouse in 1822.
16 Jan 1824

This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of January in the year of Our Lord One 
thousand Eight hundred and twenty four between Christopher MALLISON, Senr. of 
the County of Beaufort and State of North Carolina on the one part and William 
BARROW, Jr. of the other part. Witnesseth that I, William BARROW for and in 
consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to me in hand paid by Christopher 
MALLISON, Senr. before the Signing sealing and delivering of these presents, I 
have this day bargained sold and conveyed a certain piece or parcel of land 
containing four hundred & fifty acres more or less it being the land & 
plantations whereon William HOOTEN now lives the above mentioned land and 
plantation was sold at the Court House in Washington on the 20th day of May in 
the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & twenty two by Stephen OWENS, 
Esqr., Sheriff of Beaufort by virtue of an Execution - William BOONER to Willam 
HOOTEN. I further agree to warrant and defend the above mentioned land from one 
and my heirs, administrators & assigns forever to the said Christopher MALLISON 
his heirs, administrators & assigns.
In Witness whereof I have unto set my hand and seal the day and date first above 
written.

Then was the Deed from William BARROW to Christopher MALLISON proved by Samuel 
W. LUCAS.
