Beaufort County, NC - Wills - Mary Elizabeth Tripp Bonner - 1878 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Peggy Tripp Workman Surname: BONNER, TRIPP Will of Mary Elizabeth Tripp Bonner Written Dec. 28, 1878 Recorded at Beaufort Co Courthouse Will Book OW Pages248-249-250 Probate Aug 18, 1879 I May E Bonner of Beaufort County North Carolina, mindful of the uncertainty of life, being now of sound and disposing mind do declare this to be my last Will and Testament: To wit: First I give and bequeath to my four sons, Charles, Robert, Leon & Thurston Bonner in fee simple the tract of land Known as the Bonner Mill Tract to be divided by competent persons into four parts of equal value. Robert and Thurston to have their parts allotted in the swamp field or farrow. Charles & Leon to have the home farm divided between them so as to give the said Leon the home & premises whereon I now live. Second I give and bequeath to my daughters Sarah & Eliza my half of the tract of land on the West side of the Mill Pond & Creek & also the land I inherited from my father Joseph Tripp lying on the South Side of Pamlico River adjoining the lands of John Hammond & Leoniuis Sparrow to be equally divided according to value between them. It is my Will & desire that all of any lands be allotted as herein before married, but it is also my will and herein expressly declared that the various tracts allotted to each of my said children be valued by competent person & that those children where tracts shall be most valuable pay to the others the difference in money & that such difference when ascertained be a charge upon the said tract or tracts & that the same be a lien thereon. Third In case either of my said Sons to whom I have divided the Mill Tract should at any time desire to sell or dispose of his interest therein or part thereof, it is my will, desire & request that he give the refusal there of to some one of his brothers at a reasonable valuation. Fourth I desire all of my personal property to be equally divided among my several children and all other property real, personal or mixed not being named I desire to my said children herein named. Fifth Whenever it is necessary & proper to divide & allot any said lands & property according to the terms of this my Will, I empower my Executor to select to suitable & competent persons to assist him & they shall make said allotment calculations & charges & have their determination & finding register without further legal proceedings & it is my Will that the same be binding on all of my children. Sixth I appoint my friend & brother Wm Tripp Executor to this my last Will & Testament. BB Ross ER Bonner Mary Elizabeth Tripp Bonner died July 12, 1870 and is buried in the Tripp Cemetery at Core Point, Beaufort Co, NC At the time Mary E Bonner wrote this Will her sons, John Young Bonner, Joseph Tripp Bonner and Malcom Bonner had died.
