In the name of God, Amen. I, John Bright of the precinct of Hyde, planter, being in good health of body, & of sound mind & perfect memory, praise be therfore given unto Almighty God, do make & ordain this my present & last will & testament in manner & form following that is to say: First. I principally command my soul unto the hands of Almighty God hopeing [sic] through the merits, death & passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ, to have full & just pardon & forgiveness of all my sins & to [...] everlasting life. And my body I comit to the earth to be decently intered at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named. And as touching such temporal Estate as it hath pleased Almight God to bestow upon me, I give & dispose thereof as followeth: Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Henry three hundred forty & two acres of land lying near the mouth of Matchapungo Creek next adojoining to ye land of Mr. Wm. Cording, to him my said son Henry & his heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Richard and his heirs forever Two Hundred & fifty acres of land lying on Blades Creek on ye East side Matchapungo River being the land whereon my sd son Richard now dwells. Item I give unto my son Simon & his heirs forever after the decease of my Loving wife Elizabeth one full fourth part of the tract of land whereon I now dwells on Matchapungo River to be laid off so as to certain therein the plantation whereas I now dwell. Item. I give unto mmy son James and his heirs forever one other full fourth part of the aforesaid tract of land to be laid off, ext adjoining to ye land above given to my son Simon. Item. I give unto my son William and his heirs forever, one other full fourth part of the aforesaid tract of land to be laid off next adjoining to the land above given unto my sd son James. Item. I give unto my son John the other full fourth part of the sd Tract lying between the land above given unto my said sons James, Simon & Wm & the back line of the said Tract to him my said son John and his heirs forever. Item I give unto my daughter Mary, wife of William Wynn, one cow & calf. Item. I give unto my daughter Lydia one cow and calf. All the rest & residue of my estate, goods & chattels whatsoever I do give & bequeath unto my ever loving wife Elizabeth whom I do hereby appoint, full & sole Executrix of this my last will & testament and I do hereby revoke, disannul & make void all former wills & testaments by me heretofore made.
