David Samuelsen - March 2002 ************************************************************************ Beaufort County, NC; Vol. 1 page 13 (original spelling retained) In the Name of God Amen, I, John Jackson being sick of body but of a perfect health of memory praise be Almighty God for it doth appint this to be my last will & testament in maner * fourme as foloweth. First, I begive my sole unto thehands of Almight God where gave it me, hoping through the merits of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to obtain mercy of pardon for all my past sins & as for my wordly estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, my debts being first paid I give in manner and form as followeth. Imprs. I give to my beloved son John Jackson the plantation with all the land belonging thereunto after the desese of my wife Ann Jackson, she two enjoy the same if she doth not (inbasal) it during her natural life & after her desese to the aforesaid John Jackson & his heirs forever. Imprs. I also give unot my son John Jackson two cows & calves they being already of his own proper mark, also I give him my new hatt & Lettle gane [gun]. I also give him my chist with the tools beloning thereunto. Impris. As for all the rest of my worly estate, my hors I give unto my well beloved wife the rest of my children "...." I had by her not with her to be equall divided between them as they "...." agree, my hors, bridel & sadel is exsepted for that I also give unto my son John Jackson. Impris. As for my land as I have given to my son John Jackson it is morgaged to Mr. Alderson for twenty five pound of it "..." so happen as my wife * son canot "..." the mony to "..." Margurger it is my desire that my Extoqus should sell that part "..." as lies between "..." line of the Kech Neck Swamp to Cleard "..." of the land I do by then natereyn having desposed of all my worly estate, my body I also dispous to the earth to be desenly buried at the discretion of my Extequters and for the performance of this my last will and testament I dwo apint Mr. William Morton, my well beloved "..."
