In the Name of God Amen, I, Aron Spring, of the County Beaufort, and in the province of North Carolina, Calling to mind uncertainty of this Transitory Life, & being well As- sured that all men are born to Dye, & not knowing how Soon it may please the Almighty God to Call me out of this present State of Life, Do make, ordain, Constitute and appoint this to be my last Will & Testament, in manner and form as fol- lows: Imprimis, I Give and Devise & Bequeath to my Son, Robert Spring, the plantation whereon he now Lives, & one hundred Acres of Land belonging to the aforesaid plantation, which said Land I give to my said Son, Robert, & to his heirs and Assigns for ever. Item, I Give, Devise & Bequeath to my Two Youngest Sons, James Spring, & Abraham Spring, four hundred & forty Acres of Land to be Divided between the two; that is to say, Abraham to have my manner plantation Up the Swamp to the Brink, from thence South to the Back Line; & all the Land on the North side of March, to my Son, James; which said Land I give to my Two Sons & their heirs & Assigns for ever. Item, I Lend to my beloved Wife, Martha Spring, my manner plantation During her widowhood & no longer. Also, I lend to my sd. Wife, Martha, one Negroe woman called Sew, during the Life of my said Wife & at her Decease, that the said Negroe Wench & her incres to be Eckely Devide between My Two Youngest Sons, Abraham & James Spring. Also, I Give to my Wife, Martha Spring, one Feather Bed & Furniture, & one Whit horse, & four Cows & Calves, & one small Iron Pott. Also, I Lend to my well beloved Wife, Martha Spring, one Large Bason, & one Large Pewter Dish & four Pewter Plates, & one Large Chist, & one Looking Glass. Item, I Give & Bequeath to my Son, Robert, one Negroe boy called Daniel, Together with what he has allready in possession, to him, his heirs Assigns for ever. Item, I Give and Bequeath to my well beloved Dorter Dinah, which is know the Wife of William Jessor, Ninty Acres of Land lying upon the hed of Goos Creeck, and one Negroe Garl called Flory, excepting of the first Child the aforesaid Negro brings, to be given to my Son, James Spring. Item, I Give, Devise & Bequeath to my Son, Aron Spring, one Negroe Boy called Seasor, & one Feather Bed & Furniture, & Two Cows & Two Earlings, & Two Ews & Two Lambs, & four Sows, and pigs, & one new Gun, one Chist, & one Large Iron pott hooks, I give to my sd. Son Aron & his heirs & Esignes for ever. Item, I Give, Devise & Bequeath to my well beloved Dorter, Elizabeth Spring, one Negroe Girl called Prudence, & one Feather Bed & Furniture, to her my sd. Daughter, Eliz: Spring, & her heirs & Esignes for Ever. Item, I Give to my Cusen, James Magee, Two Cows & Two Erlings, to him for Ever. Item, after the deces of my Loveing Wifi, Martha Spring, that then the remander part of my Estate, whih is not all Redy Espeshely Given, I desive & Give the same between my four Children hereafter named, that is to say, Aron & Eliza- beth, and James, and Abraham Springs, Which the forsaid Articlkes, I Give Devise & Bequeth to my four Children here- two Befor mentioned & to ther heirs & Assigiis for ever. I Do appoint my Brother in Law, John Barrow, & my Son, Aron Spring, to be Executors of this my Last Will & Testa- ment. In Testimony hereof I have hereunto Set my hand & fixed my Seal this 18th. Day of April, in the Year of our Lord God 1755. Aron Spring (Seal) Signed, Sealed, Pronounced, and Declared in the presence of us: Thos. Barrow. Littleton Eborn, Jun. Beuafort County, ss. This certifies that at a Court held at Bath Town for the said County, on the Second tuesday in June, Ann. Dom., 1756, present his Majesties Justices, The last Will & Testament of Aaron Spring dec'd was exhibited into court, & Proved by Thomas Barrow, one of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto, who swore that he saw the sd. Aaron Spring execute the same & that he was at the time of sound & disposing mind & memory; & that he saw Littleton Eborne, Jun. the other Subscribing Witness set his hand thereto at the same time, Whereupon John Barrow, & Aaron Spring quaUfied as Executors to the said Will according to Law.
