"This Twenty of February on Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Six, I Thomas 
Tuten of Beaufort County in the state of North Carolina, Planter, being of 
Sound mind and memory but for Sundry Causes me thereunto Moving I do make 
and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to Say Principaly and 
first of all I Give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God 
that gave it Nothing doubting but the General Resurection I shall Receive 
the same again by the Mity power of God and my Body I Recomend to the Earth 
to be buried in descent Christian Maner at the descretion of my Extor and 
as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it has please God to Bless me in 
this Life. I Give Demise and dispose of the same in the following manner 
and form. Impremis, I lend to Sarah Kennedy, my beloved wife all of my 
Estate of Every Kind during her life or widowhood Except my Land on Blounts 
Creek I Give my Son Amos and to have and to pay for it and after the death 
or marriage of my wife Sarah all the rest to be Eaquel Divided among all my 
children and I do constitute and appoint my son Absolum my Ex'r of this my 
Last Will and Testament. I do utterly disalow disowne and Revoke all other 
Will Testom. L'gcies By me in any wise maid Ratifying and Conf. I this and 
No other to be my Last will and testament the day and year above written.
