Additional Comments: On the inside front fly leaf "This bible was rebound, using the original covers (only the part with the gilt border) by Edwards and Broughton, Raleigh, N.C. Nov. 1938" The bible begins with only 2 pages from Genesis, so assume the original first pages were damaged beyond repair. However, the following appears at the New Testament: "The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, translated out of the original Greek an with the former translations diligently compared and revised. By the special command of His Majesty King James I of England. Philadelphia: Published by McCarty & Davis, No. 171, Market Street. -- 1830."
