Nicholls Ozborne Nicholls was born the 12th day of July 1869 at 10 in the morning. B. Nicholls bought this book at(?) John Nicholls’s vending(?) the 4th Dec. 1800 (page one) H. Nicholls son of John Nicholls, and Elizabeth his wife was born the 5th day of May annodomini(?) 1729 in King and Queen County in Virginia. H. Nicholls was married the 6th Day of Feb., 1756 to Elizabeth Webb who departed this life the first day of March 1776- The had (?) five sons- 1st Thomas Nicholls born June 20th 1757- 2nd John Nicholls born 31st of August 1760 3 Henry Nicholls born 24th of February 1763 4 George Nicholls Born 19th December 1765 5 Ozborne Nicholls born 12th February 1769 H. Nicholls was married to Mrs. Sarah Williams, widow of Mr. Tulle Williams the 18th Day of May 1777- Pennelope Nicholls Daughter of Humphrey and Sarah Nicholls, was born the 23 of April at half past 11 in the Morning, 1778 Benaiah Nicholls was born the same day at 7 in the evening- (being twins) Penelope departed this life the 6th of June 1778 being 44 days old (page two) Benajah Nicholls son of Humphrey and Sarah Nicholls was born the 23 of April at 7 o clock in the evening 1778 and was babtized the 27th of Sept 1778 by the Rev. Mr. Bettigrove in St. Thomases Church Fanny Nicholls Daughter of Humphrey and Sarah Nicholls was born 22nd Sept 1780 at 3 o clock in the afternoon- Babtized 18th Mch 1781 Humphrey Nicholls departed this life the 11th Jn (?) 1791 at 5 in the morning Aged 61 years 8 months and 16(?) days- Mrs. Sarah Nicholls departed this life the 6th day of March 1797- 10 O clock at night- She was Born the 15th of February 1739-40 so recorded Benajah Nicholls was married to Clarra Ashburn Daughter of Wm. Ashburn on the 15th of March 1801. B. Nicholls, son of Benajah & Clarra Nicholls was born the 16th of May 1802- died the 2nd October 1803, aged 16months and 16 days. William John Nicholls, son of Benajah & Clarra Nicholls was born the 30th of April 1805. Departed this life the 9th day of November 1807. Aged 2 years 6 months & 9 days. Thomas Osborn Nicholls son of Benajah & Clarra Nicholls was born the 31st day of May 1807 (illegible words follow) (page three is a fragment; top right corner is torn diagonally. I don’t know which is (torn page, next line) As his birthday it being so neat 12 O clock at (torn page, next line) My dear Robert departed this life the 1st Dec. 1822. Mary Eliza Lockhart Nicholls, Daughter of Benajah and Clara Nicholls, was born the 30th day of December 1814. My dear little Polly died the 31st Aug. 1816. She lived in this veil of tears 20 months & 1 day- The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away Blessed be the name of the Lord- Patsey Rasor(?) Nicholls, Daughter of Benajah & Clara Nicholls, was born the 12th December AD (illegible) Clara B. Nicholls, daughter of Benajah & Clara Nicholls, was born the 22nd September 1818. My dear little Clara departed this life (?) about midnight between The 13th & 14th November 1819. aged 1 yr 1 mo & 23 or 24 days. (page four is a small fragment, written on the back and sideways of page three. It is written over the title page of the Bible, and is very difficult to read.
