This indenture made this 13 February 1800 between the heirs of Isaac Jenkins Deceased to wit Mary Mitchell Administratrix of the said Isaac Jenkins, also John Jenkins, James Jenkins, stand for Nathan Jenkins, & the orphans of Robert Jenkins, Abner Williford and Mary Powell of State of North Carolina in the County of Bertie the one part and Cader Mitchell...of the other part Witnesseth the above named Mary Mitchell John Jenkins & in consideration of Sixty pounds Seven Shillings being the money at was bid off at to us in hand paid by the said Cader Mitchell hath given and grant and do fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain and sell convey etc... certain tract or parcel of land the (sic) was taken up and granted to Isaac Jenkins and containing 32 acres lying and being in Bertie County beginning and oak on Wheelars branch John Ollivers corner, running along his line N__ eight degrees east 120 poles to two pines in a flat pocoson the North 25 degrees West 53 poles to a red oak on Lower Woody Island thence ___ three degrees west 26 poles to a gum at the head of Wheelers branch thence down the various courses of said branch to the first station. To have and to hold the said Granted Lands and premises with all the appurtenances forever...belonging or in any wise appertaining to...and further with the above mentioned Mary Mitchell John Jenkins & doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said...further the above mentioned Mary Mitchell Executrix of Isaac Jenkins Deceased & do bind our heirs executors etc.. Eure, Elisha Brinkley S/ John Jenkins, James Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Mary Powell, Abner Williford, Zadock Mitchell Proved Aug Term 1800 by oath Elisha Brinkley (Did Zadock Mitchell sign because he was the spouse of Mary Mitchell, who he married Dec 1799? Mary called Adm. & Exec. Wife, Mary Jenkins, made a plea before the court in Windsor. It would appear that her complaint was against the siblings of Isaac, her husband. The outside of the document states: M. Jenkins vs. Jinkins's Heirs ….? James Jenkins Names James Jenkins Jun.; Heirs of Robt Jenkins dec'd.; John Jenkins, Cader Mitchel, Abner Williford, and Mary Powell; by Solomon Cherry May Term 1798. (note - no mention of Nathan Jenkins. (I think I am missing the top part of this document). "…of Isaac Jenkins dec'd personally to be an appear before the Justices of our County Court of pleas and quarter sessions to be held for the county of Bertie the Courthouse in Windsor on the second Monday in May next. Then & there to show cause if any they can why the prayer of the petition of Mary Jinkins should not be granted. 'and this you shall in no wise omit, under the penalty of law enjoined (?) witness of George Gray Clerk of the said County of Windsor this 12th day of Feb'y 1798.
