Peele) Ward, Mary Ellen Apr 1, 1865 - Apr 16, 1937 Does anyone know the connections between these families or have anything else to add? "Rhonda t. Whitehurst" I believe that the relation between these people exists from the Biggs family of Martin County. Two daughters of William (1756-1817) and Milberry Biggs (d.1846) married into the Davis and Peele family: Nicey Biggs married ? Davis Sarah Biggs married on 1-25-1868 to Thomas Peele of Bertie Co. William was the son of Joseph Biggs Sr. (1726-1789), son of Thomas (1648/49-1696/97) and Mary Browne (b.1656) Biggs from Norfolk Co., Virginia. Joseph Sr. was married to Margaret Eastwood (1728/30-1783), daughter of Thomas (b.1702) and Ruth Cherry (b.1705) Eastwood of Norfolk Co., Virginia. Wm and Milberry's children (sons) inherited land that was bought of heirs of Viley Eastwood (Margaret's sister). The Biggs' intermarried with the Ward's, too. So, it doesn't surprise me to see a Ward grave in the cemetery. I am tracing a Ward family and ran into this info. Hope it helps.
