HALE FAMILY CEMETERY

Location:  On highway leading from Aulander to Windsor.  About 5 miles from Aulander at crossroads known as Connaritsa and lies  opposite the Connaritsa Baptist Church.  However, this cemetery is a private family cemetery, and not direcly connected to the Baptist Church.

There are 25 unmarked graves which include members of negro slaves who were interred in this cemetery during slavery times. Numbers of these are earlier graves than Sarah H. Castelloe's 1889.

Only a few of these unmarked graves are visible. Information was furnished by an elderly member of the Hale family.
