Bertie County NC Jenkins Family Cemetery Compiled by Historical Records Survey of North Carolina, 1938 Worker: Helen Modlin Jenkins-Jernigan-Hale-Parker Cemetery - Aulander, NC Location: About 5 miles south of Aulander, and west of Connaritsa on the left side of the state highway leading from Connaritsa to Lewiston, a distance of approximately 1 mile to a narrow road leading through the field of Mrs. T.F. Parker, thence up said road in a southernly direction a distance of 150 yrs to the said Jenkins Cemetery. UPDATE 3-24-2011 The cemetery was visited by members of the Hale Family (Brent and Judy Hale, Linda Hale Walker, Patricia Hale Wagner, Donna and Greg Shumate) on March 24, 2011. The cemetery was very overgrown and could not be fully accessed. However, a few additional tombstones were documented from this visit. Additionally, I conducted research on the individuals buried in this site to establish an understanding the family relationships. Donna M.
