Location:  3.7 miles northeast of Roxobel on right side of road leading from Roxobel to Aulander-Rich 
Square highway 305, in field of the lands of J.J. Jilcott heirs.

Dedication Obelish in shape of cross reads:
"The first Jilcott settled in Virginia in the late 1600;s. They remained there until Jeremiah Jilcott came to Bertie County to claim his inheritance from his grandfather, John Acree.  

Jeremiah, educated in Scotland, died young in 1816, leaving a wife and son, John J. Jilcott. John married Pamelia Cox and lived approx 1 1/2 miles NW of this site.
