HISTORIC AFRICAN AMERICAN CHURCHES IN BERTIE COUNTY This book contains two interesting essays on the historic African American Churches and their development by Alice Eley Jones (African American History Consultant, Durham, NC.) and Benjamin Speller(Dean, NC Cen Univ, Durham) The majority of the book was prepared by LaRae Umfleet and contains photos of all church buildings and histories of each one.
