Met again Pres'd [presiding] William Nunn ? Winne? Capt. Speir William Boade ? William Dew William Balwin's Pet [petition] Rec'd and ref'd Baker to Horne ack'd. Charles Evans & John Sawyer made return as Procession Master of all the lands within their Canton? which is ordered to be Regis'd. James Murray Pet read and ref'd George Smith appeared this day according to summons to qualify himself as a constable who refused to act as a constable. It is there upon considered an ordered. That this George Smith to pay a fine of five pounds but in regard of the said Smiths being an Illiterate Person and Lame it is further ordered that four pounds of this fine to be remitted by him but that he forthwith pay twenty shillings and stand comitted & pay costs. Pollock to Henderson proved by the oath of James Castollow. It is ordered that the following jury to lay out a new road form Catherine's Creek landing (for Stoney Creek Bridge - crossed out) into Stoney Creek Road. Viz: John Beverly, Sen, James Beverly Jr, John Jones, Leut. Joseph Jones Sen, Joseph jones, John Jones Junior, John Cox, James Douglas, Isaac Lewis, Thos Byrd, William Lazarus (crossed out) William Hansford, Capt. Boon, Thos MacClendon, Frank Mack Clendon, John Early, James Jenkins, or any 12. And that Charles Jones be & he is appointed overseer of said road. The Roing? Pet'd by Wm. Peter ? (all this is crossed out) Edward Carter appeared on his Recog this day, & nobody appearing to prosecute the said Carter is discharged paying Costs at? Ex'd.
