Bertie County    }

Know all men by these presents that I Henry
Powell of the State and County aforesaid have 
nominated, appointed and made and by these 
presents do nominate, appoint and make my 
trusty and loving friend John Robins of the
State and County aforesaid my lawful attorney
to transact my business of every kind for me
and in my name in as full and ample a manner
as I could do myself, to sue and be sued, to
recover and receive any debts due me and pay
every lawful demand against me, and to sell
any and every article of property belonging to 
me in said state both real and personal, and I do
hereby authorize and empower my said Attorney 
to execute Deeds of conveyance for any and  
every article of pro. that he shall or may sell for
me and in my name, and I do by these presents 
declare that every such conveyance executed by 
my said Attorney shall be as valid in law as if I 
had executed the same myself, In Witness 
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this 10th day of March 1817.
