White are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency John Owen, Governor of the state of North Carolina in the just and full sum of One Thousand Pounds, current money of the State aforesaid, to be paid to the said Governor his Successors or Assigns: To which payment well and truly to be made, We bind ourselves each of us, our and each of our Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our Seals and dated in Windsor this 11th day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine. The condition of this obligation is such, That if the above bounden William Britton administrator of all and singular the good and chattels, rights and credits of Elizabeth Veale deceased, do make or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, knowledge or possession of the said William Britton or into the hands or possession of any person or persons for him and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited into Bertie County Court...... Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Wm Britton (seal) Joseph D. White (seal) Wm Pugh (seal) Additional Comments: Elizabeth was the widow of Thomas Veale who died with a will in 1806.
