Firstbeam@aol.com http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm Coroner's Inquest - Death of Lamal White North Carolina Division of Archives & History Raleigh, NC CR 010 928.9 Inquest over the body of Lamal White State of North Carolina Bertie County Be it remembered, That on this, the 6 day of September, 1877, I, Joseph Bryant Coroner of the county of Bertie, attended by a Jury of good and lawful men, viz: [names not listed] by me summoned for that purpose, according to law, after being by me duly sworn and empannelled at Wilsons Quarter in the county aforesaid, did hold an inquest over the dead body of Lamal White of Bertie Co, and after examination into the facts and circumstances of the death of the deceased, from a view of the corpse, and all the testimony to be procured, the said Jury find as follows, that is to say after Examination of Joesph [sic] A. White Elizar West & Thos Cowand, as witnesses who saw the dead body the said Jurors do find the said Lamal White came to his death accidentaly [sic] smothered. Joseph E.
