All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Grace Williamson Turner http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm North Carolina Edenton } October Supreme Court 1759 James Williamson late of Bertie County in the Province of North Carolina Planter was attached to answer to Joseph Wimberly of a Plea why with Force & Arms the Closs Millhouse and Dwelling house of the said Joseph at Bertie County aforesaid he broke & entered & other Enormities then & there did to the great Damage of the said Joseph & against the Peace of our Lord the now King his Crown & Dignity and Whereupon the said Joseph by Jasper Charlton his Attorney complains That the said James on the Seventeenth Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Fifty Nine at Bertie County in the Province aforesaid with Force & Arms the Closs Millhouse and Dwelling house of the said Joseph he broke & entered and after such breaking & Entry continued in Possession of the said Closs Millhouse and Dwelling house against the Will and Consent of the said Joseph for the space of _______ Natural Days thence next following by which Means the said Joseph during all that Time lost the use ~~ Occupation and Profits of the said Closs Dwelling house and Millhouse & other Enormities the said James then & there did to the Great Damage of the said Joseph & against the Peace of our said Lord the now King his Crown and Dignity whereupon the said Joseph saith that he is injured & endamaged to the Value of Sixty Pounds Proclamation Money therefore he sues &c J Charlton Pet.
