All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: TJ Malone azlilowl@vtc.net October 13, 2005, 11:15 pm Written: March 30, 1759 Recorded: April 1759 Bertie County North Carolina Deed Book I, Page 264-265 Dated: 30 March 1759 Bird to Farmer Page 264 To all People to whom these presents shall Come Greetings, Know ye that I William Bird of Bertie County in the Provence of North Carolina for and in Consideration of Ten Pounds Virginia Currency to me in hand Paid, before the Ensealing hereof will and truly Paid by Joseph Farmer of the same Provence and County aforesaid the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my self therewith fully satisfyed and Contented and thereof and of every Part and Parcel thereof I do Exonerate acquit and Discharge Joseph Farmer his heirs Exors admors forever by these presents Have given granted Bargained Sold Conveyd and Confirmed. And by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant Bargain sell alien Convey and Confirm unto him the said Joseph Farmer his heirs or assigns forever One Messuage or Tract of Land in aforesaid County Containing by Estimation One hundred acres more or less Buting and Binding Beginning on the North Side of Sequea Swamp. Beginning at a Polar in Sequea Swamp, Runing thence N: 10 Et 358 Pole to the Center of two Pines and a Black Oak, thence S: 80 Et along a Line of Marked Trees to a Pine a Corner tree Between William Bird and Joseph Farmer thence a Southerly Course to the head of a Valley that Runs out of Sequea Swamp at the East side of the Plantation where Thomas Page 265 Parker did live then along the said valley to the said swamp, then up the swamp to the first station. To have and to hold the said granted and Bargained Premisses with all appurtenances Prevelidges and Comodities to the same Belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Joseph Farmer his heirs or assigns forever To his or their only Proper use Benefit & Behoof forever and I the said William Bird my heirs Exors Admors do Covenant Promise and grant to and with the said Joseph Farmer his heirs and that before the Ensealing thereof I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the same above Bargained Premisses and Lawfully Seized and Possessed of the same in my own Proper Right as a good Perfect and absolute Estate of Inheritance in Fee Simple And have in my self good Right full power and Lawfull Auth- ority to give Bargain sell Convey and Confirm the said Bargained premisses in manner as abovesaid and that the said Joseph Farmer his heirs or assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and Virtue of these presents Lawfully and Peaceably and Quietly have hold occupy and Posess and Injoy the said granted and Bargained premisses with all the appurtenances and previledges to the Belonging or in any wise appertaining and Clear and Clearly free and freed from all Incumbrances Back Quitrents only Excepted and I the said William Bird my heirs Exors admors do Covenant and Defend forever the above Demised premisses unto him the said Joseph Farmer his heirs Exers admors or assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 30th day of March One Thousand seven hundred and fifty nine William Bird {Seal} Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of us Ar.
