*James Brickell  Deed to Richard and Daniel Powell 
 
 
Know all men by these presents that I James Brickell for and in
consideration of the Sum of One hundred and forty Dollars to me
in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have
bargained & Sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto Richard 
Powell and Daniel Powell all my right title & interest in and to the
following Slaves Rody, Venus, Hannah, Bob, Lavind, Jane, 
Whitmell, Norfleet, Mary, Elebet (?), Blount, and to all the property 
of every kind which was in the possession of Mrs. Mary Powell 
at the time of her death to them and their heirs forever and in
consideration of the Said Sum of one hundred and forty Dollars
and for the further Sum of one Dollar to me in hand by the Said
Richard and the Said Daniel, I hereby release all actions at law
or Suits in equity against them or either of them and against the
estate Mary Powell may now be pending or to which I may be
entitled on account of the Said negroes or any of them or on 
account of any claims, demands, actions at law or Suits in
equity which may now be pending or to which I may now or
hereafter become entitled on account of Said Mary Powell 
property as well that which she may have had at the time of her
death as that to which she may have been entitled:
 
In testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed
my Seal this 22nd Sept 1834

This 9th day of October 1834 Before me Robert Strange one of the
Judges of the Superior Court of Law and Equity in and for the 
State aforesaid came David Outlaw Esqr one of the subscribing
witnesses to the within deed and proved the due execution thereof
