BERTIE COUNTY   Deed  of Britton, Pamelia to children

Deed Book GG, Page 164, was the following:

Know all men by these presents that I Pamelia K. Britton of the County of 
Bertie, North Carolina in consideration of the love and affection which I have 
and bear to my children Richard A. Britton,  Elizabeth A. Wife of L.M. 
Leggitt, Martha E. Wife of Lewis W. Thompson, William J. Britton, Stephen 
W. Britton, Mary P. Britton and Harriet V. Britton and also the Sum of Ten 
Dollars to me in hand paid by them, have this day released and do hereby 
release unto my said children who are the heirs of law of my late husband 
William Britton, all right-claim or demand which I as his widow have to Dower 
in any of his lands tenements or hereditaments wherever situate - To have and 
to hold the same unto my said children their heirs and assigns forever

In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 
15th day of October 1844

The Execution of the foregoing Deed from Pamela K. Britton to Richard A. 
Britton & others was duly proved before me of Judges of the Supr. Courts of 
Law & Equity in Said State by R H Cox one of the subscribing witnesses 
thereto - Let it therefore be registered
