Bertie COUNTY Deeds Patent Robert Bryan -1724 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by "Ken Lindsay" Robert BRYANT Patent 22 Feb 1724 (Patent Book 12, pages 188-189 Digital file 011-0212-tif & 011-0213.tif in the Virginia State Library) Transcribed by Ken Lindsay 15 Feb 1999: "To all Know Ye: That for diverse good causes and Court ordered but most especially for and in consideration of the Transportation of Two persons to dwell therein this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia whose names are Thomas HILL and Ann HILL and also in consideration of the sum of Eighty Shillings of good and lawful money fir is paid to Our Recorder General of Our Revenues in this our Lord’s Colony and Dominion We have Given granted and confirmed and by these presents for us our heirs and therefore do give grant and confirm unto Robert BRYANT of Isle of Wight County one certain Tract or parcel of land containing Three hundred acres lying and being on the North side of Nottoway River in the County of Isle of Wight aforesaid and bounded as followeth to wit: BEGINIG at a red oak marked three ways on the East side of the Cedar Swamp standing in the County Line ‘twixt Isle of Wight and Nansemond Countys, thence North Thirty degrees West one hundred eighty five poles to a pine by a by a ????, thence North Sixty degrees East two hundred and sixty two poles to a pine, thence South thirty degrees East one hundred and eighty five poles to a red oak in the county line aforesaid and by the county line South sixty degrees West two hundred and sixty two poles to the beginning to have hold yielding and paying as provided ????????
