Bertie COUNTY Bryan, Needham to Vann, William - 1744 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Cathy Farris cfassir@netdex.com F518 Needham BRYAN to William VANN 1744 Bertie Co NC To all people to who these presents shall come greetings - Know ye that I Needham BRYAN of Society Parish in the county of Bertie for and in consideration of the sum of seventeen pounds ten shillings Virginia current money to me in hand paid before the ensealing hereof well and truely paid by William VANN the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my self herewith fully satisfiyed and contented thereof and of every part and percell thereof do exonerate and acquit and discharge the sd Wm VANN his heirs ex and adm forever for these presents have giving granted bargained sold and delivered conveyed and confirmed and by these present do freely fully and abslutely give, grant, bargain, sell, and deliver, convey, and confirm unto him the sd William VANN his heirs and assigns forever one messuage or tract of land situating lying and being in Bertie county containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less beginning on the northside of Flaggey Run at John HARRELL line at a red oak thence No 76 E 360 pole to the center of three trees thence So14 E along the head line to a marked pine in the line thence along a line of marked trees to the head of a branch persimmon tree thence down the branch to the main FLAGGY RUNN thence down the run to the first station. To have and to hold the sd granted and bargained premises with all the appurtences priviledges comoditys to the same belonging or any wise appertaining to him the sd Wm VANN his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and the said Needham BRYAN for me my heris ex and adm do covenant, promise, and grant to and with the sd Wm VANN his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole and lawfull owner of the above bargained premises and am lawfully seized and possessed of the same in myown proper right as a good perfect and absolute ESTATE of INHERITANCE in fee simple and have in myself good right full power and lawfull authority to grant bargain sellconvey and confir, the sd bargained premissess in manner as above sd and that the sd Needham BRYAN his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by forece and virtue of thes presents lawfully and peacably and quietyly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the sd demised and bargained premisis with the appurtencace free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted exonerated and discharged of from all and manner or former or other gifts, grants, bargains, sales, lease, mortgages, intails, joynters, dowers, judgments, executions, incumbrances, and extents furthermore I the sd Needham BRYAN for my self my heirs ex and adm do covenenat and engage the above demised premises unto him the sd William VANN, his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to warrant secure and defend and Susanah BRYAN the wife of me the sd Needham BRYAN doth by these presents freely willingly give yeld up and surrender all her right of dower and power of thirds of in and unto the above demised premises unto him the sd William VANN his heirs and assigns.
