To all people to who these presents shall come greeting...Know ye that I William BRYANT of AlbermarleCo and in the prect of Bertie and in ye Government of North Carolina Planter for and in consideration of ye sum of fifty shillings sterling money to me in hand before ye ensealing here of well and truely paid by William BRIDGERS of ye county and prect aforesaid. Planter of receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied and contented and thereof and of every part and parcell thereof do exonerate acquit and discharge ye said William BRIDGERS his heirs Exet & Admin forever by these presents have given granted Bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto ye said William BRIDGERS his heirs and assigns forever on parcell or tract of land situate lying inye said prect. Beginning at a poplar standing in ye side of UrharraSwamp and so up ye said swamp to ye mouth of a small Branch that runs out of ye afforesaid swamp & do up ye said branch to ye last fork of small branch makes so from thence through ye middle of ye tract of land to ye Headline containing by estimation three hundred and twent acres more or less Excepting so much of ye swamp timber as I or my Heirs shall ever have occation to make use of. To have and to hold ye said granted and bargained promises with all yhe appurtenances priviledges and comodities to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him ye said William BRIDGERS his Heirs & assigns forever to his & their only proper use Benefit and behoof forever and I the said William BRYANT For myself myHeirs Exe Adminstrator so covenant promise and grant to and with ye said William BRIDGERS his Heirs and assigns that before ye ensealing hereof I am ye true sold and Lawfull owner of ye above bargained premises and am lawfully seized and posessed of the same by Patten bearing date of ninth day of March 1717 in mine own proper right as a good prefect and absolute Estate of Inheritance in fee simple and have in myself good right full power and lawfull authority to grant bargain sell convey and confirm ye said bargained premises in manner as afforesaid and that ye said William BRIDGERS his Heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force? and virtue of these presents lawfully peaceably & quietly have hold use occuply possess and enjoy ye said premises with ye appurtenances free and clear freely & clearly acquitted exonerated & discharged of from all and all manner of former or other gifts grants bargains sales leases morgages wills intails joyntures dowries indgents? Executions Incumberances and Extents-Furthermore I ye said William BRYANT for myself my Heirs Exctors Administrators do coventant and engage ye above demised premises to him ye said William BRIDGERS his Heirs & assigns against ye lawfull claims or demand of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to wareant secure and defend and Mary BRYANT ye wife of William BRYANT doth by these presents freely willingly give yield up and surrender all her right of Dowrie and Power of Thirds of in and untoye above demised premises unto him ye said William BRIDGERS his Heirs and assigns forever, In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and fixed and seals the 13th day of May Anno Domi 1723 William BRYANT & a seal, Mary O BRYANT & a seal-signed sealed & Deliverd in the presents of us.
