Bertie COUNTY Bryan, John to Bryant, William-1736 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Cathy Farris cfassir@netdex.com E32 1736 To all Christian People to whome these presents shall come, I, John BRYANT, of the Precinct of Bertie in the Province of North Carolina, send greeting: Know ye that I, the said John BRYANT, for divers good causes and considerations we there unto moving but mor especially for the tender effection, love and goodwill I bear unto my son William BRYANT, of the Precinct aforesaid, have given and grant and do by these presents freely, clearly, and absolutely give and grant unto my son Wm BRYANT his heirs and assigns forver the plantation whereon I now dwell, with one hundred acres of land adjoyning thereto: it being the land I purchased of Wm BOON, for one hundred acres more or less. To have and to hold the said land and plantation according to the former bounds: from and after the day of my death to him, the said William BRYANT, his heirs and assigns forever, but in case my sd son William die without issue of his body lawfully begotten, then to return to my son Barnabe BRYANT in manner as in before mentioned. In witness whereof I have hereunto set may hand and seal this 12th day of May 1736.
