All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by JGH900@aol.com Jim Holder http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/bertie.htm Deed from William Bryant to John Holder Deed dated ____ day of ______, 1765 Deed Book K, Pages 463-464 Recorded March Court 1765 "North Carolina, Bertie County} Know all men by these Presents that I, WILLIAM BRYANT, of the county and Province aforesaid, Planter, for and in consideration of the Sum of _______________ [blank] Pounds Proclamation money to me in hand paid before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof by JOHN HOLDER, of the county and Province aforesaid, Planter, do give, grant, bargain, sell, allienne, convey and confirm and by these presents do freely and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell, alliene, convey and confirm unto him the said JOHN HOLDER his heirs and assignes for ever One certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing Ninety Acres, be the same more or less, situate, lying and being on the North side of the JOHN HOLDER Plantation, and the South side of WILLIAM BRYANT, Butted and Bounded as Followeth, Beginning at a Pine, on Stuard Branch, runing up the said Branch to the Rode then along the Rode to the head line and along said Branch to JOHN HOLDER's line and thence along his line to the First station. To have and to hold the said land with all appurtenances, priviledges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said JOHN HOLDER his heirs and assigns for ever in fee simple and further I the said WILLIAM BRYANT do covenant, promise and grant to and with the said JOHN HOLDER his heirs & assigns for ever that before the ensealing and delivery hereof I am the true sole and lawfull owner of the said lands, and have in myself good right full power and lawfull authority to bargain and sell the same as in named above said. And further I the said WILLIAM BRYANT do bind my self my heirs executors and administrators to warrant and defend the said land unto the said JOHN HOLDER his heirs & assigns for ever against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever shall lay any claim right title or interest to thee lands; his Majesties and the Earle of Granville's Quitrents only Excepted.
