this indenture made and entered in this 8t day of April A D
1859 Betwene Starky Cowan of the one part and Joseph W.
Cowan of the other part all of the county & State aforsaid
Witnest the Said Starky Cowan for an inconsderation of the 
Sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by JW Cowan
the reseit whereof I hereby acknowledge have granted bargin
and Sold and by these presants do bargin sell and deliver unto 
Joseph W Cowan his heirs and assigns for Ever a certin peace 
or parsel of land containing fifty acors by Estimation more or 
less lying in the county aforesead comencing at a Sweat Gum 
a corners in the run of lewsin Swamp thence a south west corse
along a line of maret trees to Elisha Hoggards line to Aron O.
Askews line thence along Said Askews line to Joseph W Cowans
line thence along said Cowans line to the run of the Swamp
thence up the Swamp to the first station to have and to hold the
above bargin premeses to him the Said Jos W Cowan his heirs and
assigns for Ever and I the Said Starkey Cowan do for my Self my 
heirs, Exiceter administraters do warrant and for Ever defend the
rite and title to the Said Joseph W. Cowan his heirs and assigns
for Ever in testimony whereof I the said Starkey Cowan have
herewith Set my hand and affit my Seal the day and date before
mention
