Curry to Johnston

This indenture made this thirtieth day of July in the year of our
lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen between Malachi Curry of
the County of Bertie and State of North Carolina of the one part and
Littleton Johnston of the same county & state of the other part
witnesseth that the said Malachi Curry for and in consieration of
the sum of forty five dollars to me in hand paid by the said
Littleton Johnston before the sealing and delivering of these
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowedg hath bargained and
sold and do by these presents bargain and sell unto the said
Littleton Johnson his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece
parcel or tract of land lying and being in the county and state
aforesaid and butted and bounded as follows (to wit) beginning in
the road at a branch in James Curry's line along the Road 80 pole to
a bottom near said Malachi Curry's then M 46 W [?] to Joseph H.
Bryan's line in Sd branch to a larg white oak then along the Branch
to the first station containing by estimation Twenty five acres be
the same more or less to have and to hold the Said tract or parcel
of land & premises with all the profit priveleges and appertinances
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said
Littleton Johnson his heirs and assigns forever and the said Malachi
Curry for my self my heirs executors and assigns do warrant and
forever defend the above bargain premises to the said Littleton
Johnson his heirs and assigns forever against the legal claim or
demands of any person or persons whatsoever in testimony whereof I
the said Malichi Curry hath hereunto set my hand and seal the day
and year first above written.

deed from Malichi Curry to Littleton Johnson was proved in open
court by the oath of Thos Tayloe one of the subscribing witnesses
thereto and ordered to be registered
