Deed, Jesse Halsey to Henry Hughes 1818

This indenture made this 15th of March one thousand eight hundred &
eighteen between Jesse Halsey of the State of No. Carolina & County
of Bertie of the one part & Henry Hughes of the Same State & County
of the other part, witnesseth that the said Jesse Halsey for and in
consideration of the Sum of one hundred Dollars to him paid in hand
by the said Henry Hughs hath granted Bargained Sold and by these
presents doth grant bargain Sell aline and convey unto the Said
Henery Hughes to him & his heirs for Ever a certain tract of land
Lying in Bertie County Buted & Bounded as follows (Viz) beginning at
the Run of Morvil Swamp on Rubin Harison's line thence Easterdly
along the Sd Harisons line to a spring marked as a corner, thence
along a line of marked trees Southardly to Wm J. Newborns line
thence the corner of the Said Newborns line to John Butlers line,
thence along the Said Butlers line to Reuben Harisons line thence
along the Said Harisons line to the first Station in marvel Swamp
Containing by Estimation Sixty five acres, be the Same more or less,
to Have and to hold the Said Bargained and Sold premises with all
Rites & privileges there unto Belonging unto the said Henery Hughes
to him and his Heirs forever and the Said Jesse Halsey do warrant
and forever Defend the title of the Paid land unto the Said Henery
Hughes against any person or persons Claimes or demands to the Said
Henery Hughes forever in witness Whereof I the said Jesse Halsey
hath hereunto Set my hand & Seal this Day and year [fins?] written.
