Know that I Richard Dillon of the County of Bertie and province aforesaid, Cooper, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and fifty - pounds - proclamation money given in hand paid By Capt. Andrew Stanton of the County of Bertie and province aforesaid, mariner, the Receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge. I myself herewith fully satisfied and contented and paid have Bargained, sold, aliened, exposed, Released County & assigned, transferred and set over and By these presents - Do fully freely and absolutely give, grant, Bargain and sell alien Enpeach, Releas, Convey, confirm, assign, Transfer and set over unto him the Sd Andrew Stanton and his heirs & assigns forever one certain Tract of Land Containing 250 acres Beginning on the East side of the Round obtrusion (?) at a white oak and Running N 0\"35 East 288 poles to a pine in Thomas Ashley's Line, then running along the said Ashley's Line East 37 poles to the center of a hickory and two Spanish oaks, the south side along George Lockharts line 196 poles to a white oak the said Lockhart's corner & Robert Wests, then along Wests line S o\" 45 west 260 poles to the East side of the Round obtrusion (?), then along the said obtrusion (?) to the first station. To have and to hold the said tract of land Bargained and sold as aforesaid and all singular the Right priviledge commodilts herein its appoints and appendance thereunto Belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him unto him the said leafs (or leaps?). Andrew Stanton his heirs and assigned forever in fee simple absolutely in and full and ample assumes as the most learned in the land can devise. Furthermore. I the said Richard Dillon for my self, my heirs executors,admt. And assigns do I warrant and agree to & with the Sd Capt Andrew Stanton his heirs and execus. Adms and assigns forever do warrant and forever defend the Sd land and premises free from all Incumberance of what kind or nature whatsoever, not only against my self my heirs Execus. Adms But also against the Lawful claims or Demands of any other person or persons whatsoever. I herby promise to warrant same, maintain and Defend the said Land Bargained and sold as aforesd unto him the Capt Andrew Stanton his heirs and assigns forever.
