Mitchell Page 315 This Indenture made the fifteenth day of December one Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Six between Luke Farmer of the State of North Carolina and County of Bertie of the one part and Thomas Mitchell of the State and County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Luke Farmer for and in Consideration of the Sum of fifty Pounds currency money to him in hand paid by Thomas Mitchell the receipt whereof I the Said Luke Farmer doth acknowledge and by these presents for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth acquit Exonerate and the Said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and assigns Have Given Granted Bargained and Sold and do by these presents Give Grant bargain and Sell unto the Said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of Land of his containing by Estimation fifty acres More or less lying on the North Side of Sequer (sp.?) Swamp in the County aforesaid Begining at a Gum William Morriss and James Mitchells Corner on the Page 316 the Swamp in the mouth of the Branch Running up the run of the Said Branch along William Morriss line of Marked trees to William Watfords Corner former by John Martains and along the Said Watfords line to a corner tree in the old Patron Corner (<-2 words smeared) and down the old patron line to the Swamp a poplar the old patron Corner and down the Said Swamp to the first Station, To have and to hold the Said Messuag of Land and Tenements Heredi= taments herein or hereby Granted and Sold and every part and parcel there of with the appurtenances there to belonging unto the said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and assigns and to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and assigns for= evry, and the said Luke Farmer for himself his heirs Executors and administrators and every of them doth Covenant promise Grant and agree to and with the Said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and assigns in manner and form following that is to say, that he that he the Said Luke Farmer hath in himself a good right full Power and Lawfull authority to grant bar= gain and Sell assign and make over here by granted Lands and premises and every part and parcel therof with their appurtenances unto the said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and assigns and also the Said Thomas Mitchell his heirs and Executors, administrators or assigns and every of them shall and Lawfully may from time to time and at all times for every hereafter have hold use Premises and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances without any Lawfull let Suit Torouble Molestation or Eviction whatsoever of him the Said Luke Farmer his heirs Executors administrators or assigns or by any other per= son or persons whatsoever, In witness whereof the Said Luke Farmer hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal the Day and year above written his Signed Sealed and delivered Luke (X) Farmer {Seal} In the presence of mark her Silas Cook, Martha (C) Cook his mark Joseph (F) Farmer mark State Page 317 State of N.
